Join Stan Hywet’s Needlework Guild and learn the basics of embroidery! Participants will learn a variety of stitches and techniques and by the end of the night will be able wear their creation home! Participants will also get to learn about the “behind the scenes” work that the Needlework Guild does to help our Collections Department keep Stan Hywet looking beautiful. No prior knowledge needed. Join staff and volunteers on morning walks to discover a variety of birds found at Stan Hywet and your own backyard. Whether you are a beginning bird watcher or more experienced, we will provide you with a few tips and tricks on how to identify common birds by sight and sound. Guests are encouraged to bring their own binoculars and bird guides (a limited supply of binoculars and bird guides available upon request).

A companion to the Nooks & Crannies tour, this outdoor guided experience highlights key domestic staff who lived on and operated the estate. Other tour highlights include state-of-the-art exterior technology incorporated into the estate design, service buildings, and the Seiberling farms. A Self-guided Manor House Tour is included in this package. The guided portion of the tour lasts approximately 1.5 hours.The guided garden tour takes guests around the estate and focuses on how the Seiberling family worked closely with their landscape architect on the overall design of the property. Highlights of the garden tour include the West Terrace & Overlook, Japanese Garden, English Garden and the newly restored Lagoon. A Self-guided Manor Tour is also included in this tour package. Please note that this is not a plant identification tour.

Babies benefit greatly from new sensory experiences and the outdoors is a great place to explore! Join us for music, movement, and a special stroll through the beautiful gardens and grounds. Designed for children age birth-3 years old and their caregivers, this program will take place once a month on select Thursday mornings.
